Remember - you need to speak about your topic for 4 minutes using GRADE 4 LANGUAGE.

Adverbs of frequency and adverbial phrases of frequency

We use these to talk about how often we do things. Some of these can be in different places within a sentence.

The question for these answers is usually
HOW OFTEN DO YOU __________?

  • How often do you travel? - I usually travel.
  • How often do you wake up in the middle of the night? - I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night.
  • How often do you go to the dentist? I rarely go to the dentist.
  • How often do you go to church? Once a week I go to church.
  • How often do you eat candies? I occasionally eat candies.
  • How often do you go to the doctor? I  go to the doctor every month.
  • How often do you study English? I always study English.
  • How often do you visit your grandparents? Every two weeks I visit my grandparents.

Class 3

like + gerund and infinitive 

We use this language to tell people what we like and what we don't like. Like/Likes/Don't like/Doesn't like is followed by a gerund (verb functioning as a noun - verbs ending in ing) ​or the infinitive (NEVER separate the infinitive). If we feel strongly about something we can use love or hate.
